Makkah and Madinah can be very warm during the day and surprisingly cool indoors (mosques and hotels run strong air conditioning), so UK pilgrims often either overpack for heat or underpack for the cold. A good checklist isn't just about convenience, forgetting a key document or medication can genuinely disrupt your trip. Whether you've booked one of our Ramadan Umrah packages or a quieter December Umrah package, the essentials below stay largely the same, with a few seasonal tweaks noted along the way.
1. Essential Travel Documents
This is the category that causes the most last-minute panic — start here, days before you fly.
- Passport (valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel date)

- Flight tickets and hotel vouchers (printed copies, even if you also have them digitally)
- Travel insurance documents

- Travelling on a family umrah package? Pack a small first-aid kit, entertainment for children during travel, and extra snacks for little ones.
- Booked a luxury Umrah package? You'll have more room hotel-side, but airline baggage limits still apply — always check your allowance before you pack.
Seasonal Packing Notes
